Midrash X · explore the work
Jewish media.
Jewish creativity.
Jewish wisdom can meet a reader in a book, a student through a question, or a community through a story. Midrash X is a Jewish media house and creative think tank bringing those encounters into contemporary life.
Founded by Rabbi Gedaliah Gurfein, the house connects publishing, digital Jewish learning and creative projects. Choose a way into the work below, whether you want to learn, watch, collaborate or help a project reach others.
Jewish books and storytelling
Three books explore spiritual practice, Jerusalem and the unexpected turns of a life. Counting Towers: The Path of Secrets connects the seven Sefirot, daily Psalms and the rhythm of the week. Unread Snow follows Jerusalem’s high-tech story from inside the wave. Jack Cass Gets Jewish returns to the beginnings of the Baal Teshuva movement in 1970s Jerusalem.
Each book has its own page with its story and a route to discuss publication support or dedication.
Torah learning, Talmud and Jewish mysticism
The People’s Talmud offers a subject-led way into more than 7,500 core entries. Begin with a question about relationships, justice, faith or everyday life and follow it into Jewish sources.
The People’s Zohar opens a path into Jewish mysticism through themes and Torah references. No prior knowledge of Hebrew or Kabbalah is required. Both project pages explain the approach and link to the live learning platforms.
Jewish wisdom and artificial intelligence
DI & AI: Divine Intelligence Meets Artificial Intelligence is a free video masterclass with an introduction and ten episodes. Rabbi Gedaliah Gurfein brings Jewish mystical ideas into conversation with technology, human choice and responsibility.
The series is available on YouTube. Support for future masterclasses helps develop new conversations around contemporary questions.
Jewish films, animation and games
The films and animation work explores Jewish storytelling through scripts, visual studies and developing story worlds. The displayed images are visual studies, not a catalogue of released films.
Three Jewish game concepts — Emotionally Stable Birds, The Eighth Path and The Rebbe’s Coat Has Pockets — explore choice, discovery and story. These projects are in development. To discuss a creative collaboration or production support, contact the team.
Conversations for communities
Live lectures and events bring Jewish sources into conversation with communities, schools, institutions and audiences. Formats include speaking engagements, institutional roadshows, parlor meetings, screenings and discussions, with in-person or online participation by arrangement.
